How to cook grass-fed steaks perfectly

Grass-fed steaks are leaner than grain-finished, so they cook 25–30% faster. Follow these rules for restaurant-quality results every time:

  • Salt 40+ minutes ahead or right before cooking — never in between.
  • Cook hot and fast — cast iron at high heat or a hot grill (450–500°F).
  • Pull at 125°F for medium-rare (5°F below conventional beef targets).
  • Rest 5–10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
  • Finish with butter, flaky salt, and fresh herbs.
