Our Animals

Healthy food comes from healthy animals. Most people don’t realize that, as farmers, we truly love our animals. Yes, in the end, we eat them, but from the day they are born on our farm, we care for them just like you would care for your pets or kids. Providing for and taking care of our animals is our passion. Keeping them healthy and happy in a natural, low-stress environment truly does result in healthier food for you.

Beef

We raise Grass-Fed and Grass-Fed Organic Beef. Our cows spend their entire lives on pasture. They are never enclosed in a barn, and don’t worry—they have leather coats for the winter. Between our two farms, we have over 100 different pastures, so every one to two days, our cow herds are moved to fresh grazing areas. It's like taking them to a brand-new restaurant with every move. Our cows are primarily Angus, but we use crossbreeding to improve their quality and health.

Pork

Growing up, pigs were my favorite animal to raise. Their curiosity and the way they snort while running around make them fun to watch. We purchase our piglets from local farms when they weigh about 40 pounds. Once on our farm, they are fed organic, non-GMO grains for their entire lives. When you see our pigs, they truly are pigs—they aren’t neat and clean, but just by watching them, you can tell they’re happy, digging and playing in the mud.

Eggs

Let’s start with the obvious question: 'Why do we have different colored eggs?' The answer is that different breeds of chickens lay different colored eggs. This doesn't apply to cows—chocolate milk doesn’t come from brown cows. However, brown or red chickens lay brown eggs, and white chickens lay white eggs. The color of the eggshell doesn't determine the nutritional quality of the egg; it's what the chicken eats that gives the egg its quality. Our chickens have access to pasture year-round, where they eat grass, clover, bugs, and worms. However, the main source of their diet is the feed we provide, which is packed with the right proteins, vitamins, and Omega-3 to produce the most nutritious eggs possible. 100% of our chickens’ diet is organic, ensuring you get a great organic egg.
