Beef and Veggie Stir-Fry
Ingredients:
- 1 lb beef stir-fry meat (preferably from Waseda Farms for quality and flavor)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional for extra depth)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp sesame oil or vegetable oil (for marinating)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for cooking)
- 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 zucchini, sliced into half-moons
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch ginger, minced
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Sauce:
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional, for spice)
Instructions:
- Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, mix beef stir-fry meat with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Let it sit for at least 10-15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and chili flakes (if using). Set aside.
- Stir-Fry the Beef: Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove beef from the pan and set aside.
- Cook Vegetables: In the same pan, add a touch more oil if needed, and add bell pepper, zucchini, broccoli, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, or until veggies are tender-crisp.
- Combine: Add the beef back into the pan along with the prepared sauce. Toss everything together for 1-2 minutes until well-coated and heated through.
- Serve & Garnish: Sprinkle sesame seeds and green onions on top for garnish.
Serving Suggestion:
Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles for a complete, satisfying meal!
