The farm humanely raises Black Angus beef, heritage Berkshire pork and chickens for meat and eggs.
The Waseda Farms herd consists almost entirely of Aberdeen Angus, known more commonly as Black Angus. Black Angus have a great natural marbling which makes for delicious and tender beef. They are the most well know beef breed in the world for good reason. And we have to say, they’re pretty darn handsome. And of course, all our beef is 100% grass fed with no antibiotics or hormones used, ever.
We raise certified organic Berkshire pork. We have a wide assortment of products available, from chops and loins, to fresh and smoked hams and bacon. We also have a growing selection of sausage products. All our pork products are nitrate free and 100% meat, no fillers so no mystery. Except for a pig’s smile. That is a mystery we will never understand.
We have have outstanding organic Cornish Rock cross chickens, which are large breasted, beautiful birds. Our chickens have a darn good life raised on pasture and hanging out with other chickens. We follow the Joel Salatin method of raising chickens, which includes no antibiotics, no hormones, and non-GMO feed. All this makes for one happy and ultimately one tasty bird!
Our eggs are certified organic—and as always, no hormones or antibiotics are involved. Our flock features three breeds. We have Leghorns (white eggs); Bovan Brown (brown eggs); and Araucana (green eggs). In each dozen sold, we provide an assortment of all three colors.
